When I first heard about the Clarisonic brush, it was recommended to me by a sales girl. I didn't even consider it and thought it was ludicrous. I scoffed not only at the hefty price tag (the first models I saw were around $300 if I remember correctly), but I also hated the idea of having yet another vanity item cluttering up my bathroom.
Eventually, I came around. Over the past year or so I've really changed my ways and become a skincare junkie. Previously, I was all about makeup. I guess I didn't want to waste time and money when any skin problem could be taken care of with some good makeup.
While that may be true, it just sets a girl up to be a slave to makeup all the time. I learned to really take care of my skin and not just mask it everyday. And eventually, quite recently, I've purchased one of my own. I am officially eating my words!
I never realized how inefficient conventional cleansing was until I felt my face after my first cleansing with the Clarisonic. I was scared of the exfoliation factor in the brush, since my skin is so sensitive, but there are extra sensitive brush heads that can be attached instead of the normal ones.
Apparently, the pros were right: exfoliation is essential for healthy skin. And I haven't had skin this smooth, clear, and radiant since...well I don't know. Probably since I was a little kid!
The proof for me really sunk in the first morning I put foundation on after using the Clarisonic. It was as if I had just applied the world's most amazing primer, and I hadn't applied anything. It glided on and I barely needed to blend at all.
Most of the kits come with cleansers, either their own brand or Philosophy skin care. However, the great thing is you can use whatever cleanser you want and it will become ten times better with this brush.
There are probably mixed opinions about the brush, but it has really fixed my skin and made my breakouts obsolete. It is most likely not a necessary item for every woman, especially if you were blessed with good skin.
For those that struggled with acne for so long, the Clarisonic is wonderful and worth every penny.
