First of all, I'll tell you what the Clarisonic device is. It is an oscillating brush that is used to clean and exfoliate the skin on your face. It uses some of the same technology that your oscillating toothbrush does. At the very basic level, the brush cleans your face more thoroughly than you can by yourself.
Many people came to recognize the Clarisonic name because the skin care brush appeared on Oprah's show. It is on her favorite things list. The show created lots of media attention. I bought one because of Oprah's recommendation, yes, I admit it, I can be swayed by that kind of thing. Well, how does it work? The brush moves very quickly and gives the sensation of a skin massage. The rapidly moving bristles on the brush whisk away dead skin cells and clean your skin much more deeply than a simple washing ever could.
Once you clean the skin by getting rid of makeup, skin oils, dead skin cells, your skin is now ready for an application of any creams that you normally use. You can use the brush with water alone or with a mild cleanser. The device is gentle enough on your skin that it can be used up to two times daily. I have a really hectic lifestyle so getting enough time to do anything even once daily is difficult, but following the manufacturer's instructions you'll spend less than 2 minutes which is pretty fast.
If the device is used daily and you are careful with your skin, you will see an improved skin tone fairly rapidly. Those of us who exfoliate and cleanse daily know the value of following this regimen. The Clarisonic Skin Care Brush augments the results of just plain cleansing and washing.
